MIC-D Digital Image Screen Savers

Welcome to the Olympus MIC-D digital microscope screen saver download area. Our software programmers have worked in collaboration with microscopists to develop a series of screen savers using digital images captured with the MIC-D microscope operating in a variety of contrast-enhancing modes. These screen savers have been developed for computers utilizing the Windows (95, 98, NT, 2000, and XP) operating system and are available as free downloads to our visitors. We hope you enjoy these screen savers, which are provided at no charge by Olympus America, Inc. and The Florida State University.

Olympus MIC-D Digital Microscope Screen Saver - The Olympus MIC-D digital microscope mixed image screen saver features 25 digital images that were captured using a variety of contrast-enhancing techniques and specimens on the MIC-D Digital Microscope. In addition, the screen saver contains 12 user-configurable display modules that allow an almost infinite number of image display transition motifs.

MIC-D Butterfly Wing Screen Saver - The Olympus MIC-D digital microscope screen saver features 34 digital images that were captured from 17 different butterfly species using a variety of contrast-enhancing techniques on the MIC-D Digital Microscope. In addition, the screen saver contains 12 user-configurable display modules that allow an almost infinite number of image display transition motifs.

MIC-D Darkfield Illumination Screen Saver - The Olympus MIC-D darkfield illumination digital microscope screen saver features 25 microscope images that were captured by the MIC-D microscope operating with the illuminator placed at a highly oblique angle. Darkfield illumination renders transparent, almost invisible specimens in bright highlights superimposed on a very dark or black background.

MIC-D Oblique Illumination Screen Saver - Oblique illumination renders transparent, almost invisible specimens in pseudo three-dimensional relief to expose a vivid display of surface detail. The oblique illumination Olympus MIC-D digital microscope screen saver features 25 images and contains 12 user-configurable display modules that allow an almost infinite number of image display transition motifs.

MIC-D Polarized Light Screen Saver - Examine the spectacular color arrays exhibited by recrystallized birefringent crystallites captured by the Olympus MIC-D digital microscope in polarized light mode. Utilizing images from a wide variety of organic chemicals, dyes, pharmaceuticals, vitamins, and biochemicals, this Windows (95, 98, NT, 2000, and XP) screen saver is available as a free download to our visitors.
